Musician, Drummer and Founder of The Rhythm Story
Introduction
Sagar Belsare is an Indian musician, drummer, handpan player and music educator based in Pune, India. He is the curator of a rhythm-driven learning concept called The Rhythm Story, an idea he began shaping in 2017 around the belief that rhythm is one of the most natural and universal ways people connect with music.
Through his work as a performer and teacher, Sagar explores rhythm not just as a technical skill but as a musical language that can be experienced through groove, movement and listening. His work today spans drum education, melodic percussion instruments such as the handpan, and short-form music performances shared online.
Alongside teaching and performing, he regularly documents his musical explorations through performance videos, original recordings and rhythm-based learning content.
Musical Journey
Sagar’s journey with music began with rhythm. Over the years he developed a deep interest in drums, groove and the role rhythm plays in shaping music across different styles.
Alongside performing and teaching, he continues to explore music production, recording and arrangement, combining his understanding of rhythm with modern tools for creating and sharing music online.
His work today spans multiple areas including live performance, drum education, recording projects and short-form music content.
Rhythm Story Studios
The idea of The Rhythm Story, which began as a teaching concept and creative vision in 2017, gradually evolved into a structured learning platform. What started as a simple idea eventually grew into a studio dedicated to rhythm-focused music education.
That idea was formally established when Rhythm Story Studios (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. was registered in 2021. Rhythm Story Studios (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. is an MCA-registered company under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
Based in Pune, the studio focuses on drum education and rhythm development for students across different age groups and experience levels. The approach combines structured practice with musical application, helping students understand rhythm not only on the instrument but also within real music.
Through the studio, Sagar continues to teach, perform, produce educational content and develop the broader idea of rhythm as a foundation for musical learning.
Teaching Philosophy
Sagar believes that learning music should be structured but enjoyable. His approach focuses on building a strong sense of timing and groove while helping students understand how rhythm functions inside real music.
Rather than relying only on technical exercises, his teaching emphasizes listening, feel and musical context so that students develop both discipline and creativity in their playing.
